Puerto Rico is an island of diverse ecosystems, vibrant biodiversity, and an unsure future.

It has everything from mountain forests to salt flats to the only tropical rainforest in America.  The island is a precious oasis of endemic species and beautiful landscapes. But, much of it is in danger.

 

While large hurricanes and earthquakes cause damage, the true threat comes from the humans that share the island. There’s climate change, overfishing, human/wildlife cohabitation, and invasive species. But there’s also hope.
